Current trailer construction uses traditional fiberglass or foam to resist heat transfer into the container, and the rate of that heat transference is known as an “R-value”. The thicker the material, the slower the time to absorb and conduct into the insulated environment, but traditional insulation will eventually allow 100% loading of heat. Conversely, Super Therm effectively blocks heat from loading into the container in the first place. The ceramics in Super Therm are tuned to block 99% of Ultra Violet Radiation, 92% of Visual Light and 99.5% of the Infra Red spectrum.
Trailers coated with Super Therm have been shown to save between 15% - 30% on fuel usage. When applied to the roof surface of a semi trailer, Super Therm ceramic coating will block 96% of heat from loading into the container, allowing the refrigerator unit to run less often, hence requiring less fuel, maintenance cost, and extends the unit life.
